Lunabàs was founded in 2023 in Berlin by Selene Candido, a language teacher, educator and coach. Selene was born and raised in the northeastern Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. She holds a Bachelor in Philosophy and Human Sciences, a Master in Philology and Italian Literature and a Master in Teaching Italian Language and Culture to Non-Native Speakers, from the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Italy). Selene worked for 11 years as a language teacher and school administrator in New York City, before moving to Berlin. She loves art and the written word and is passionate about working with learners of all ages. “Lunabàs” is the way Selene’s son pronounced, for the first time, the opening line of a lullaby her great-grandma used to sing to her. Lunabàs, in many respects, is the beginning.
